    Barry Robert Pepper (born April 4, 1970) is a Canadian actor. Pepper began his acting career starring in several television movies before getting his breakthrough in supporting roles in various critically-acclaimed war films such as Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers, Flags of Our Fathers, and Stephen King’s The Green Mile. He would later branch out to various films such as Seven Pounds, True Grit, Casino Jack, Snitch and The Lone Ranger.Pepper has also received critical acclaim for portraying real-life figures in various biographical films. He portrayed baseball player Roger Maris in the 2002 HBO sports miniseries 61*, which garnered him his first Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. In 2005, he was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for his portrayal of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt in the television film 3: The Dale Earnhardt Story. His portrayal of Senator Robert F. Kennedy in the 2011 political miniseries The Kennedys earned him his second nomination and first Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie.
